What changed
Rexhepi took the top prize. The Aiguille d'Or Grand Prix, the GPHG's highest award, went to Rexhep Rexhepi for the Chronograph Flyback. The 2026 ceremony, the 26th, was held in Geneva on 7 November.
What it means
- If you stock the winners: they show at Watches of Switzerland in Knightsbridge, London, from 18 to 23 November.
- If you track brand awards: Audemars Piguet, Chopard and Ferdinand Berthoud each won two of the twenty prizes.
- What this is not: a sales figure or a price. The prizes are the judgement of an Academy and a jury.

Patek's prize is cultural. Patek Philippe took the Special Jury Prize for its Watch Art Grand Exhibition, an exhibition rather than a watch.
The winners travel to London.
Geneva, then Knightsbridge. The 84 nominated watches stay at Geneva's Musée d'Art et d'Histoire until 15 November, after showings in Mumbai and Bangkok. The winners go to Watches of Switzerland in Knightsbridge from 18 to 23 November.

What would change this call
Nothing in a prize list moves a price by itself. The call that matters is at auction: if Rexhepi and the double winners' pieces sell inside their estimates over the coming season, the prize is recognition, not demand.
How the GPHG is chosen
An Academy of more than 1,000 members takes part in the selection and a jury of international experts awards the prizes. The GPHG was created in 2001 and has been overseen since 2011 by a foundation recognised as a public-interest organisation, it says.

The twenty prizes in the table are the release's list, checked line by line against the prize-list page (https://www.gphg.org/en/prize-list-26, 75,764 bytes); both give the same winner and watch for every prize. The count of double winners is ours, from that list: Audemars Piguet (Iconic; Calendar and Astronomy), Chopard (Time Only; Jewellery), Ferdinand Berthoud (Chronometry; Tourbillon). Prior coverage: no earlier Carat Capital article on the GPHG; one on 18 July names Rexhepi among independents at auction.
