Privacy Policy

Who we are. Carat Capital is the trade paper of the jewelry world, published at caratcapital.org. This page explains what happens to your information when you read the paper or interact with our accounts elsewhere. The short version: we are a publication, not a platform. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, no paywalls and no advertising here.

What we collect on this site. We count visits with GoatCounter, a privacy-respecting analytics service. It uses no cookies, builds no profiles and follows you nowhere. We see aggregate numbers — which pages were read and roughly where readers came from — and nothing about you as a person. Page typefaces load from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests font files from Google’s servers; that request is governed by Google’s own privacy policy.

What we never do. We do not run advertising or ad trackers. We do not sell, rent or share reader data with anyone, because we do not hold any worth selling. We do not profile readers and we have no interest in starting.

If you write to us. Letters to the desk arrive by email. We keep correspondence in our mailbox to answer it and for the record, and use it for nothing else.

Our social accounts. Carat Capital publishes on Instagram, YouTube and TikTok. Activity on those platforms is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. The publishing tools we use access only our own accounts to schedule and post our own editorial content; they do not collect, store or process information about any other user of those platforms.

Changes. If this policy changes, the new text appears here with a new effective date. We will not quietly change what we do.
