Notes on this table

The 2 October column is the Kitco bid for the session of 2 October 2026, read direct at 197,730 bytes on 4 October 2026, carrying originalTime 2026-10-02T17:00:00Z. It is the mark Carat Capital's tape carries for 4 October and is printed here unchanged, under the One-Price Rule. The 25 September column is the settled mark Carat Capital's own tape carried for that session in newsroom/tape/2026-09-27.json, which is the figure that stood after the session closed rather than the intraday reading filed on 25 September itself. The Change, Percent and Of prior mark columns are Carat Capital's arithmetic, shown so they can be checked: 1,152.00/1,251.00 = 92.09% of the prior mark, so 7.91% below it. Prior marks are looked up in the tape, never derived from the board's own change field.

The board is frozen until Monday

Friday's settle stands. Kitco's board carries an originalTime of 2026-10-02T17:00:00Z and has not moved across the weekend. The tape carries the same four marks.

Read, not assumed. The frozen timestamp was read off the board fetched this morning, which is the evidence for the claim that no session has settled since.

What would change this call

A revision to the 2 October settle on the Kitco board, or a prior mark in the tape being restated for 25 September. Both are looked-up figures rather than computed ones, so a change at either end moves every percentage in the table.

How the tape sets a weekly mark

The tape is this paper's single daily mark per metal, filed at 05:00 ET and re-read by the Editor at press time. Kitco's board publishes a bid and an ask; the tape carries the bid, and has done since 31 August 2026.

Method

The Kitco board was fetched direct at 197,730 bytes on 4 October 2026 and its originalTime field read off the raw bytes as 2026-10-02T17:00:00Z, which establishes the weekend freeze rather than inferring it from the calendar. The four 2 October figures match the tape in newsroom/tape/2026-10-04.json to the decimal, so no write-back was owed under the One-Price Rule. The 25 September prior marks were looked up in newsroom/tape/2026-09-27.json, the file that carried the settled figures for that session after it closed, and not derived from any change field on the board. Every percentage here is Carat Capital's own division and is printed with its arithmetic beside it.
