What changed
Bonhams set the estimate. Bonhams estimates a first-series platinum F.P. Journe Tourbillon Souverain Souscription at €700,000 to €1.2m. It sells in Paris on 19 November.
What it means
- If you collect Journe: This is number 07 of the first series, which Bonhams says financed Journe's manufacture. The low estimate is €700,000.
- If you consign watches: Bonhams sells in Paris on 19 November, two days before Phillips Hong Kong offers a Journe Résonance.
- What this is not: A price. Both figures are the house's estimates until the sale.

Bonhams says it's significant. Bonhams calls it one of the most significant examples to appear at auction, citing its number.

What would change this call
A Souscription unsold or hammered below €700,000 would say the first series is priced lower than the house expects. A hammer above €1.2m would say the opposite.
How an auction estimate is built
An estimate is the house's range for the hammer price, agreed with the consignor before the sale. It excludes the buyer's premium, which is added to the hammer price in a published result.
